Hello,
is it possible, so piPOIAlert evaluate the driving direction flags out of navifriends database?
It would be a great features, but definitely difficult to implement.

kind regards

thats a good idea! the thing is that i have no idea how they are encoded, sure its a hex value but whats its meaning? is there an explanation in the navifriends forum?

http://www.navifriends.com/phpbbForum/viewtopic.php?p=44273#44273

pip, i really appreciate your comments.
Zitat:
i haven't had any false alarm during tests...

i had twice from version 1.01 when stopped. i'll try to figure out why.

Zitat:
you can replace the sound alert file with your own (see help).
the user images are a good idea, i'll think about it

my suggestion is an optional association between POI name inside piPOIAlert.txt, and files created by user. example: POI name "80", "80.jpg" and "80.wav" will produce the alert, display the image, and play the sound. so one can create a visual and sound alert like "allowed speed is 80km/h" when speed<limit, or "reduce speed to 80km/h" otherwise.

please, let me share comments.

sometines i can't see poialert info.
when using maps, it's better hearing speed information(as previously suggested).

let me test next beta.
tks

hi, pip

i had another idea:

A. Two diferrent sound alerts; normal and overspeed, when speed limit is available.
B. Users can create image and sound files to be displayed and played during alert, if they have the same name of speed limit. Sound file is played after alert sound.

example: speed limit "80", "80.jpg", "80.wav"

No1.

Not a new feature request: i think the font for the speed should be bigger (and maybe with a different color) for the normal driving display.
This will assure a the possibility of a quick visual speed check at any time.

no2.

Top speed limits with 3 or 4 user settings and different alert for over speed

This will be independent of POI proximity; plain speed alert..

It might be great to change between top speed limits using the touch screen (small boxes with top speed written on them)

thanks for your ideas. i added them to my todo list

janusro:
hmm, if i make it bigger it won't fint the screensize anymore lachen maybe i should work over the text presentation, eg. use street sign for speed limits (red circle) but as you know the space is limited.

sorry, i don't understand nr 2 lachen

hi, pip

tks a lot.

by the way, ndrive and sygic have voices and icons we can use.

janusro suggested that users could enter a poi database independent fixed speed limit on the fly.

a good idea, if limits dont change much.

some drive assistents use map speed limits. i hope nokia maps could do this someday. maybe the speedcam database could become way speed limits database in the future.

i drive long ways and limits change too much.

my suggestion is a "persistent speed limit" option. it would display the last poi speed limit, and an optional alert.
